My LinkedIn tagline sums me up in three words: Teacher, Trainer, Technologist – a mix that has shaped my career journey so far.
I have spent over 25 years in the IT world, working across computer hardware, software, and finance industries. Along the way, I have rolled up my sleeves on everything from enterprise systems to business intelligence and data analytics, always driven by a commitment to making technology practical, accessible, and truly useful for the people who rely on it.
In the early days, I got to collaborate with a wide range of people – business leaders, executives, frontline staff, developers, vendors – both down the hall and across the globe. What I enjoyed most was the teamwork: turning big ideas into working solutions and seeing them through from start to finish.
Eight years ago, I made the leap into education, bringing those years of industry experience into the classroom. Today, I’m a Senior Lecturer at the local Polytechnic, where I get to teach programming, data science, analytics, and AI. My favourite part? Inspiring curiosity and encouraging students – whether fresh out of school or seasoned adult learners – to cultivate critical thinking, foster effective collaboration and problem-solving skills, and embrace learning as a continuous, lifelong endeavor.
Outside of work, I like to balance the hours spent teaching and working with technology by getting plenty of fresh air. I am into long-distance running, swimming, and – when I really want to test myself – high-altitude trekking. There’s nothing quite like the perfect mix of challenge, scenery, and perspective you get from being up in the mountains.

… On the road less travelled, value, worth, and merit converge …
